Mahmut Özgener

İZTO Yönetim Kurulu Başkanı

Mahmut Özgener 1963 yılında İzmir’de doğdu. İlkookulu Gazi İlkokulu’nda,  Ortaokulu İzmir Saint Joseph ‘de, liseyi İzmir Atatürk Lisesi’nde bitirdikten sonra Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi Pazarlama bölümünden mezun oldu.

1987’den bu yana tütün sektöründe çalışmaktadır. Vosmer Otomotiv firması ile, otomotiv sektöründe de faaliyet göstermektedir.

1999-2018 yılları arasında Ege Tütün İhracatçıları Birliği Yönetim Kurulu Başkanlığı görevini kesintisiz olarak üstlendi. 2001-2003 ve 2006-2008 yılları arasında iki dönem Ege İhracatçı Birlikleri Başkanlar Kurulu Başkan Vekili olmuştur. 2006-2008 yılları arasında Türkiye İhracatçılar Meclisi Başkan Vekilliği görevinde bulundu. 25 Nisan 2018 tarihinden itibaren Ege Tütün İhracatçıları Birliği Başkan Yardımcılığı görevini sürdürmektedir.

1980’li yılların başında Altay altyapısında yönetici spor yaşamına başlayan Mahmut Özgener, 1994 yılında Altay Spor Kulübü’ne Başkanlık yaptı ve  Altay Spor Kulübü’ nde 3 dönem daha başkanlık görevini üstlendi.  

2004-2006 yılları arasında Türkiye Futbol Federasyonu Yönetim Kurulu Üyeliğine seçilen Özgener, TFF Başkanı Hasan Doğan’ın kalp krizi sonucu hayatını kaybetmesi sonrası, vekaleten başkanlığa getirildi. Ağustos ayında gerçekleştirilen seçimleri kazanarak, Futbol Fedreasyonu  Başkanlık görevini 2011 yılına sürdürmüştür.

EXPO 2020 İzmir Adaylık sürecinde Yürütme Kurulu Başkanı olarak görev yapmıştır.

16 Nisan 2018 tarihi itibariyle İzmir Ticaret Odası Yönetim Kurulu Başkanlığı 15 Mayıs 2018 tarihi itibariyle de Türkiye Odalar ve Borsalar Birliği Yönetim Kurulu Üyesi olarak görevini sürdürmektedir.

İngilizce ve Fransızca bilen Mahmut Özgener evli ve 2 çocuk babasıdır.
