Sektörel ve Çevresel Sürdürülebilirlik Uzmanı

Ferdi Akarsu uzun yıllardır ulusal ve uluslararası çok sayıda sivil toplum kuruluşu, özel sektör ve kamu kuruluşunda çevresel ve sektörel sürdürülebilirlik alanında çalışmalar yürütüyor. Uluslararası Sürdürülebilir Turizm Derneği ve İzmir Sürdürülebilir Kentsel Gelişim Ağı yönetim kurulu üyelikleri de bulunan Akarsu, aynı zamanda Uluslararası Doğayı Koruma Birliği (IUCN)’nin çeşitli komisyonlarında görev alıyor. Akarsu, UNDP ve FAO gibi uluslararası örgütlerinde ki sürdürülebilirlik çalışmaları yanında, nesli tehlike altındaki türler ve tehdit altındaki doğal alanlar üzerine çalışan ve uzmanlığını kuşlar üzerine yapmış bir kuş bilimci. Turna kitabı, Atlas Dergisi ve benzeri popüler çok sayıda dergide makaleleri yayınlanan Akarsu, Hürriyet Gazetesi ve Hürriyet Seyahatte de uzun süredir yazıyor. Akarsu, 2020 yılında yayınladığı “Yeşil – Sürdürülebilir Yaşam ve İklim” kitabı ile sürdürülebilirlik ve küresel ısınma konusunu ele alıyor. İnsanın gündelik faaliyetlerinde, kentsel uygulamalarında ve sektörel üretimlerinde sürdürülebilirliğe yönelik yöntemleri araştırmak ve bu yolla insanı doğaya ve doğayı insana yaklaştırmak, Akarsu’nun kuşlar ile birlikte en büyük tutkusu.
